Hiking data

The starting point of the hike is the square in front of the town hall in Molini di Prelà (Fig. 1).

Walk along the provincial road (arrow in Fig. 1) past a factory building until you reach a bridge, cross it and turn left immediately after the bridge (Fig. 2). After a few metres, turn right onto a path (Fig. 3), which leads steeply uphill and soon rejoins the provincial road (Fig. 4). Follow the road uphill (fig. 5), turn left into a small road (fig. 6), pass the houses of Costiolo (fig. 7), turn left at the end of the road (fig. 8) and after a few metres turn right (fig. 9). Continue uphill (fig. 10). After a short, sometimes very steep stretch, you reach a road (fig. 11), cross it and continue climbing (fig. 12) until you reach another road (fig. 13). Turn left there and after a few metres turn right. You reach a chapel (figs. 15, 16, 17, 18), bypass it and after a further ascent you come to a road which you cross (fig. 19).

You will now reach Valloria and follow the arrows in Figures 20, 21 , 22, 23 until you reach the central square (Fig. 24). Turn left there and climb a flight of steps, enter a narrow alley and turn left after a few metres (fig. 25). Via further steps and a concrete path (Fig. 26) past an agroturismo, you will soon reach a road (Fig. 27). Continue uphill, pass the church of San Giuseppe (fig. 28), turn right behind the church (fig. 29) and after a short downhill stretch, turn left onto a path that leads to Tavole (fig. 30).

Climb uphill (figs. 31, 32, 33, 34, 35). You will reach an open square with a chapel (Madonna del piano) (fig. 35a). Follow the road to the left (fig. 36), then continue straight ahead (fig. 37). You will reach Tavole, in the Novelli district (figs. 38, 39, 40). Follow the little road that goes downhill after a short distance and turn left (fig. 41) into a very narrow path bordered by walls.

At the end of the path, turn left, follow the small road first uphill, then downhill, turn left (fig. 43) and reach a square with a church (fig. 44). Pass the church, go straight ahead along the road (figs. 44, 45, 46), leave Tavole and after a short distance turn left onto a path (fig. 47). Here you can decide whether you want to take the partly very steep path or the provincial road to Villatalla. If you decide in favour of the path, follow it until you reach a road (fig. 48 ), walk up the road for a short distance and then turn right onto the path (fig. 49 ). If the path is completely overgrown, continue straight ahead until you reach a junction. Follow the path uphill, cross several small mountain streams and after 60 - 90 minutes you will reach a road (fig. 50) where you turn right downhill, pass the Madonna delle Neve chapel and turn right immediately after the church onto a downhill path (fig. 51).  Follow the path downhill. After a short distance you will reach a road that leads to the village of Villatalla (fig. 52). Follow the road downhill (fig. 53) and you will reach the central square of Villatalla (fig. 54, 55). Go straight across the village square and follow the arrows in figs. 57, 58.

Turn right and follow the narrow road downhill (figs. 58, 59, 60, 61), which turns into an old mule track and leads down into the valley in steep hairpin bends. You come to a path (fig. 62), which you follow downhill. After a short distance, you will reach an old bridge (fig. 63). Cross the bridge and after a few metres you will reach a fork in the path (fig. 64). Go straight on and follow the path that leads to Canneto soprano. After a few hundred metres you come to a fork (fig. 65), continue straight on past a fork (fig. 66), where you go straight on and reach Canneto soprano (fig. 67). A few metres after the small square, turn sharp right (fig. 67), follow the steep downhill path past the church of San Antonio (fig. 68, 69, 70) and you will reach Canneto sottano (fig. 70). Follow the road straight ahead, leave the village and continue downhill until you reach the square in front of the town hall in Molini di Prelà.
