Dolcedo-Molini di Prelà-Valloria-Passo della Valle-Ripalta-Dolcedo

The starting point of the hike is the square in front of the town hall (Piazza Doria) in Dolcedo (Fig. 1).

Walk under the town hall, pass the gate, cross the forecourt of the church of San Tomasso, climb the stairs and turn right (fig. 2). Follow the narrow alleyway along the stream (figs. 3, 4). At the old bridge (fig. 4), turn right, cross the bridge, turn right (fig. 5) and continue straight ahead (fig. 6) until you reach a road leading uphill from Dolcedo (fig. 7). Turn left and follow the road uphill. In a sharp left-hand bend, turn right (fig. 7). Continue along the road (arrows in Fig. 8 to 20) until you reach a factory building (Fig. 21). There, turn left (fig. 22) onto an uphill mule track that leads to the village of Costiolo. It will take you 1 to 1 ½ hours to get here (approx. 2.6 km). The path leads steeply uphill and soon rejoins the provincial road (Fig. 23).

Follow the road uphill (fig. 24), turn left into a small road, pass the houses of Costiolo (fig. 25), turn left at the end of the road (fig. 26) and after a few metres turn right (fig. 27). Continue uphill (fig. 28). After a short, sometimes very steep stretch, you reach a road (fig. 29), cross it and continue climbing (fig. 30) until you reach another road (fig. 31). Turn left there and after a few metres turn right. Continue to climb steeply uphill (fig. 32). You reach a chapel (figs. 33, 34, 35, 36), bypass it and after a further ascent you come to a road.

Turn left (Fig. 37) and follow the road, which is more or less flat to slightly uphill to Passo del la Valle. Keep right at the next two forks in the road (figs. 38, 39) and turn left at the next one (fig. 40). After a few metres you reach the pass and turn right (fig. 41). Follow the road downhill, turn left after a short distance (fig. 42) and follow the path, which is initially flat and then goes downhill. After approx. 5 to 8 minutes (Fig. 43) continue straight ahead and after approx. 4 to 6 minutes (Fig.

44) you will come to some houses. There and at the next two forks (fig. 45) and (fig. 46), keep right and descend to Ripalta, a district of Dolcedo. Now follow the path (fig. 47) to the right, pass the church of Ripalta (fig. 48) and after another short stretch you will reach a square from which you turn right onto a narrow path (fig. 49). Go downhill, turn right at the end of the path (fig. 50), pass the Casa della Rocca restaurant, turn left, cross the bridge (fig. 51), turn left and follow the narrow lane until you reach the church forecourt under the first houses on the left via a staircase, go under the town hall and return to Piazza Doria.
